What's new in Postsale

Checking a new printer, a label template, or a packing station used to mean buying a real label to see what came out. A shipment's Package section now has a Test label checkbox. Tick it and the label prints with a watermark, nothing is charged, and the shipment stays marked as a test.

• Nothing to pay, a test label is never billed, so you can print as many as it takes to get the setup right.
• Clearly a test, the label carries a watermark and the shipment is flagged, so a practice label cannot be mistaken for a real one.
• USPS today, test labels are available on USPS shipments. On carriers that do not support them yet, Postsale refuses the purchase rather than quietly charging you for a real label.

Choosing a label template used to mean picking a name off a list and finding out what it looked like after printing. The picker now renders each template with sample shipment data, so you can see the layout, the fonts, and where your branding lands before anything reaches the printer.

• Rendered previews, each template is drawn with realistic sample data instead of being listed by name alone.
• Compare side by side, move through the list and the preview pane keeps up, so picking between two similar layouts takes one look.
• Fewer wasted labels, the wrong template gets caught on screen rather than on stock.

You can now issue your own API keys from Settings and call Postsale directly from your own systems. Every key is scoped: you choose exactly what it can reach before it exists, and you can narrow or widen it later without reissuing.

• Pick what each key can do, permissions are grouped by what they touch, shipments, labels, carriers, pickups, manifests, addresses, shipping rules, documents, orders, stores, and reports, each with a plain description of what granting it allows.
• Consequences are called out, permissions that spend money, send a courier, disconnect a carrier, or delete something permanently say so where you choose them.
• See what a key actually did, the activity list shows each request a key made, its outcome, and the response it got, so you can tell a rejected key from a wrong URL.
• Rotate, narrow, or switch a key off, keys can be edited and disabled from the same screen, without touching the rest of your integration.
• A reference that already knows your key, the full API reference lives at developer.postsale.com, and a freshly created key can be handed straight to it so sample requests run as you.

End of Day has been reorganized around what you actually need to know at the end of a shipping day: what has been closed out, what is scheduled for collection, and what happened previously.

• Close-out summary per carrier, each connected carrier shows its own day-end state instead of sharing one combined view.
• Scheduled pickups in their own list, booked collections are visible at a glance, and cancelling one is a direct action rather than a hunt.
• Readable history, past close-outs and manifests are grouped into records you can scan.

The integrations area in Settings has been rebuilt. Each connection is now a tile that tells you where it stands before you open it, and the ones your plan does not include say so rather than failing when you try.

• One page for every connection, API keys, webhook subscriptions, the MCP server, SendGrid, and SMTP now sit side by side.
• State on the tile, a connection shows whether it is set up, needs attention, or is not included in your plan without being opened.
• Clearer email setup, the SendGrid and SMTP screens were rewritten so the sending address and its verification state are easier to follow.

Building an automation no longer starts from an empty editor. Describe what you want to happen in your own words and Postsale drafts the workflow for you. Nothing is saved until you have seen it.

• Draft from a description, say what should happen and Postsale proposes the triggers and actions to match.
• Review the exact change first, a preview shows what the draft would add, remove, or alter in your workflow before you accept it.
• Edit anything before applying, the draft opens in the normal workflow editor, so you can adjust it or throw it away.

Custom automations are available on Expand and above.

Mapping CSV columns to Postsale order fields no longer has to start from scratch. Drop in a CSV and Postsale proposes an initial mapping for you using AI, then drops you into a redesigned mapping screen where you can review and adjust before importing.

• AI auto-mapping, point Postsale at a CSV and it suggests which columns map to which order fields, ready to review.
• Redesigned mapping screen, fields, sources, and previews sit on one screen with dialogs that shrink to fit when no form is open.

A round of fixes affecting carrier display, billing setup, and the carrier shipping profile wizard.

• Carrier service shows for unrated orders, the carrier service column no longer appears blank for orders awaiting a rate.
• Setup intent retry, the billing setup flow correctly recognizes when a payment intent already succeeded and avoids the error state.
• Carrier shipping profile, blank package-type values in the carrier shipping profile no longer block the wizard.

Webhook subscriptions let your own systems receive Postsale events as they happen. Subscribe to the events you care about and Postsale delivers signed JSON payloads to your endpoint.

• Real-time delivery, events are pushed as they occur, no polling needed.
• Managed from settings, create endpoints, choose events to subscribe to, and rotate secrets without leaving Postsale.
• On the Soar plan, webhook subscriptions ship alongside the public API.

The Shopify integration has a new connector. Order sync is more reliable and store connection takes fewer steps.

You can now search the orders dashboard using plain language instead of chaining structured filters. Describe what you're looking for and Postsale interprets the request, applies the right filters, and returns matching orders.

The Shipping Rules Editor that shipped earlier this month picked up a round of improvements based on real-world rule sets.

• Refined condition group builder, building nested conditions feels cleaner, and existing workflow conditions can convert to a group with one click.

The Shipping Rules Editor gives you full control over how orders are processed, without writing code. Build complex shipping logic visually using conditions, actions, and nested groups — then test your rules against real order data before they go live.

• Visual Rule Builder — Drag-and-drop conditions and actions into logical groups. Supports AND/OR logic with nested sub-groups up to three levels deep.
• Conflict Detection — The editor automatically identifies contradictions, overrides, and rule shadowing before you save. Warning badges surface issues so you can resolve them in context.

eBay joins Shopify, WooCommerce, BigCommerce, Square, and Miva as a fully supported sales channel. Orders from your eBay store sync automatically into your Postsale dashboard.

Resolved an edge case where special characters in eBay's OAuth redirect could silently truncate the authorization token, preventing some merchants from completing the connection flow.

• Root Cause — A URL-encoding issue with eBay's redirect format caused the auth code to be cut short before reaching our server.
• Result — eBay store connections now complete reliably on the first attempt.

Shopify is now a fully supported sales channel. Orders from your Shopify store sync automatically into your Postsale dashboard.

Address fields are now validated based on the destination country's formatting requirements. Issues like overly long address lines or missing required fields are flagged before you attempt to create a label.

The Template Assistant brings AI directly into the template editor. Describe what you want in plain language, and the assistant generates or modifies your Liquid template code.

• Natural Language Editing — Tell the assistant what you want ("add a returns policy footer" or "make the logo larger") and it generates the template changes.
• Diff View — See exactly what the assistant changed before accepting. Review additions, removals, and modifications side by side.
• Conversational Context — The assistant understands your current template. Follow-up requests build on previous changes without starting over.
• Feedback Loop — Thumbs up/down on responses helps refine the assistant's suggestions over time.

Postsale now supports USB shipping scales for hands-free weight entry. Place a package on your scale and the weight is populated directly into the shipment's weight field.

• Auto-Fill Weight — Weight is read from the scale and inserted into the active shipment's weight field. Supports both pounds and kilograms.
• Scale Button — A scale icon appears on the weight text field. Click to read the current weight.
• Auto-Reconnect — If the scale disconnects, Postsale reconnects automatically in the background.

The template editor for packing slips, invoices, and email notifications has been significantly upgraded. Edit templates with real-time syntax feedback and visual previews.

• Liquid Syntax Support — The editor now understands Liquid template syntax, with inline linting and warnings for unknown filters or bad formatting.
• Code Suggestions — Auto-completions for Liquid filters, variables, and template properties. Hover over any property to see its type.
• Dark Mode — The editor supports dark mode for comfortable editing during long sessions.
• Folder Organization — Templates can be organized into folders. Drag-and-drop to move templates between folders.
• PDF Preview — Preview templates as rendered PDFs directly in the editor. HTML rendering is used for faster iteration.

The dashboard has been rebuilt with customizable widgets so you can see the metrics that matter most to your operation at a glance.

• Shipment Status Widget — A visual breakdown of shipments by tracking status. Optionally exclude "Carrier Awaiting Pickup" from the chart to focus on in-transit and delivered shipments.
