Connect your own email account over SMTP and Postsale sends your customer emails from your business address. Works with Gmail, Outlook or any provider that supports SMTP.

There are two ways to send from your own address: through your own email server with SMTP, or through SendGrid.

Setup

Set up SMTP in three steps.

  1. Step 1

    Gather Your SMTP Details

    You'll need your SMTP host address, port number, security type (TLS or SSL) and, if your server requires it, your email username and password.

  2. Step 2

    Add Your Email in Postsale

    Go to Settings > Account Settings > Integrations. Enter your SMTP details and the email address you want to send from.

  3. Step 3

    Start Sending

    Save, then send yourself a test email. Once it arrives, choose your address as the From email in your automations, and Postsale sends your customer emails from it.

A custom From email over SMTP is on Thrive and above.

Can I use SMTP and SendGrid together?

Yes. Connect both, then choose which one sends each email: every Send Email automation and every email you send by hand has its own From setting.

Does this work with Gmail?

Yes. You can connect a Gmail account via SMTP. You may need to enable an app password in your Google account settings.
