Postsale's advanced search feature makes it easy to locate orders with shipment protection applied. Whether you're preparing to file a claim, reviewing orders with existing claims, or just need to find orders with shipment protection applied, using the Advanced Search allows you to quickly find the orders you need.

In this article, we will walk through setting up advanced searches. We'll also save the searches as Filters. Filters are great because they allow you to simply select it to quickly repeat the Advanced Search without having to recreate it.

We will create searches to:

  • Locate orders that have shipments with shipment protection applied
  • Locate orders with a specific type of shipment protection applied (carrier declared value or Shipsurance parcel insurance)
  • Locate orders with a claim submitted with Shipsurance
  • Locate orders with a specific Package Value associated with the applied shipment protection

Learn more about creating Advanced Searches and Filters.

Before We Begin

This article assumes that you have shipped at least one order with either the carrier's shipment protection or Shipsurance parcel insurance applied to the shipment.

If you have not added shipment protection to any shipments, that's OK. You can still create the Advanced Searches and save the Filters. However, the search will not return any results until at least one of your shipments has shipment protection applied.

Create Advanced Searches

In the following sections, we will create four separate Advanced Searches so that you can learn how to create them and so that you become familiar with the search options related to locating orders with shipment protection applied.

Multiple Search Criteria

Did you know that you can add multiple search criteria to an Advanced Search? You can! For example, you could search for orders that have Shipsurance package insurance applied to shipments with a Package Value of $250 or more.

You would just follow the steps in the Find Orders with Specific Shipment Protection AND the Find Protection with a Specific Package Value sections below to add both sets of criteria to your search. Your Advanced Search would look like this:

Advanced Search with Shipsurance provider and package value criteria

Open the Advanced Search Pop-Up

  1. Select All Orders in the Orders Menu. Selecting All Orders ensures that no criteria have already been added to your search.

All orders is selected in the orders menu.

  2. Click the Advanced Search button in the Search Bar.

The advanced search button is being clicked.

The Search pop-up opens. This is where you will add the specific criteria to locate the orders you need.

Next, follow the steps in the appropriate tab for the type of Advanced Search you'd like to create.

Real World Example

I am trying to locate any order that has a shipment with shipment protection applied. It doesn't matter if it is the carrier's declared value coverage or Shipsurance parcel insurance.

  1. Click the Field drop-down menu in the Search pop-up from step 2 above. Then, locate and select Apply Shipment Protection. Hint: You can type the name of the field to quickly locate it in the list of available fields.

Apply shipment protection is being selected as the field.

The Operator field is set to Equals and the Value is set to True for you. Leave these values as they are since they tell Postsale to search for all orders that have shipment protection applied.

The operator is set to equals and the value is set to true.

  2. Click the Add button to add the search criteria to the Advanced Search.
